Senior Project Engineer – Structure, Major Projects

About the role

This senior position supports the Head of Civil & Structure in overseeing engineering activities for major projects, ensuring they align with company strategy, safety, environmental and quality standards. The role provides technical guidance, problem‑solving and decision‑making across multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering work to meet project objectives, EPCC contract requirements and procedures.
• Track and report progress of engineering deliverables, flag deviations and drive recovery actions.
• Review and comment on technical documentation from EPCC contractors, including datasheets, drawings, specifications and vendor documents.
• Verify compliance of contractor submissions with approved specifications and contract terms.
• Support acceptance of fabrication schedules and coordinate QA/QC inspections at vendor and subcontractor sites.
• Follow up on fabrication progress, resolve NCRs and address fabrication defects.
• Collaborate with construction teams to ensure proper installation of equipment and systems.
• Participate in on‑site inspections, mechanical completion activities and punch‑list management.
• Monitor engineering deliverables against commissioning schedules and support training for start‑up.
• Manage engineering interfaces with internal departments and the EPCC contractor, including spare‑parts and tie‑in readiness.
• Assist in design changes, technical queries and field notes, and contribute to multidisciplinary reviews such as HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, QRA and 3D model reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or related engineering discipline.
• Extensive experience on large‑scale EPC or major industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of HSE, environmental and quality management systems.
• Proven ability to work with EPCC contractors, vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on risk identification and mitigation.

Required skills

• HAZOP, HAZID, SIL and QRA review participation.
• 3D model review and coordination.
• Fabrication schedule assessment and NCR resolution.
• QA/QC inspection and expediting.
• Technical documentation review (datasheets, drawings, specifications).
