Senior Rotating Machinery Engineer

About the role

QAFCO is seeking a Senior Rotating Machinery Engineer to lead maintenance activities for critical rotating equipment, including steam and gas turbines, compressors and pumps. The role focuses on ensuring reliable plant operation, minimizing unplanned shutdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and monitor preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance for steam turbines, gas turbines, centrifugal/reciprocating compressors and pumps.
• Perform condition monitoring, vibration analysis, performance trending and other predictive techniques to detect early equipment deterioration.
• Conduct oil and lubricant analysis, interpret results and recommend corrective actions.
• Apply relevant API standards (e.g., API 613, 617, 618, 612) to maintain compliance and equipment integrity.
• Lead root‑cause analysis (RCA) studies and support improvement projects.
• Coordinate with project teams for change management and equipment upgrades.
• Ensure all work complies with occupational health, safety, quality, energy and environmental procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience (96 months) in rotating machinery maintenance within oil, gas or petrochemical environments.
• Strong knowledge of turbine, compressor and pump operation and maintenance practices.
• Proven ability to lead maintenance teams and manage complex technical projects.
• Excellent analytical skills and a safety‑first mindset.
