Senior System Administrator – AIX/Linux, Storage & Cloud

About the role

The client is looking for a Senior System Administrator with deep expertise in IBM AIX, Linux and storage‑cloud environments. You will be responsible for ensuring the security, performance and availability of critical infrastructure that supports the client’s business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain AIX and Linux operating systems, including patch management.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents and lead L3 support calls.
• Implement and manage security controls, firewalls and regular updates.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline routine tasks.
• Administer storage solutions, perform capacity planning and oversee backup/disaster‑recovery processes.
• Design, deploy and manage cloud services on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, including cloud security.
• Manage virtualization technologies such as PowerVM, VIO servers, NPIV and Shared Ethernet Adapter.
• Maintain documentation, LPAR cloning procedures and ServiceNow incident records.

Required profile

• Strong experience with IBM AIX (7.1+), Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Power Systems hardware.
• Proven background in storage administration, GPFS, PowerHA and disaster‑recovery planning.
• Hands‑on experience with PowerVM virtualization, VIO, NPIV and LPAR management.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and associated security practices.
• Ability to work on‑call rotations and lead technical bridges during service disruptions.
