Senior Tax Analyst – Advance Tax Rulings

About the role

The Senior Tax Analyst will lead the technical review and drafting of Advance Tax Rulings (ATRs) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with Qatari tax law. This role supports the full case lifecycle, from analysis of applications to final documentation, while mentoring junior analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse ruling applications and supporting documents to identify key tax issues.
• Research and interpret tax legislation, regulations, guidance, and relevant case law.
• Draft rulings, issue lists, and technical memoranda under supervision.
• Coordinate with case managers to ensure document version control and deadline adherence.
• Liaise with applicants for information clarification and additional documentation.
• Prepare case packs, meeting minutes, and decision logs for senior review.
• Apply approved templates, citations, and style guides consistently.
• Maintain and tag technical materials in the knowledge base for future reference.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accounting, Taxation, Finance, Economics or Public Administration.
• Minimum four years of experience in tax advisory, administration or policy.
• Strong understanding of domestic tax laws and regional tax frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and legal interpretation abilities with high attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with legal, policy or audit teams.
• Fluent written and verbal communication in Arabic and English.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ADIT or CTA are desirable.
