Service Desk Technician – Work Order & Key Control

About the role

The Service Desk Technician will manage the full lifecycle of work orders, ensuring accurate tracking, filing, and resolution in line with Army Records Management guidelines. You will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing advice, assistance, and timely support while maintaining strict key control procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Create, track, and close work orders using Maximo or an approved AIS system.
• Input, process, and distribute maintenance request forms to the appropriate repair facilities.
• Maintain DA Form 1687 and ensure customers have a valid form before service.
• Generate spreadsheets and reports on work order activity and key control compliance.
• Adhere to key control and end‑of‑day security procedures at all times.
• Follow performance work statements, Army regulations, and local requirements.
• Provide statistical data and reports as requested.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3‑4 years of related experience, preferably in a customer‑service or government contracting environment.
• Prior experience with US Military or government processes is required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
• Professional demeanor and ability to work with all organizational levels.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Maximo work‑order management.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience creating databases and spreadsheets.
• Familiarity with the Standard Supply system and key‑control procedures.
