Structures Technician – Sub‑Amp (Doha, Qatar)

About the role

The Structures Technician Sub‑Amp provides subject‑matter expertise for the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) at Al Udeid Air Base. The role supports the development, maintenance, repair and long‑term sustainment of building structures, envelopes and interior finishes, ensuring compliance with FYDP+3 requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Advise AMP Managers, Operations Flight and Engineering Flight on investment decisions for structural assets.
• Develop and oversee inspection, maintenance, repair, sustainment and recapitalisation plans for foundations, framing, roofing, walls, windows, doors, interior finishes and paint.
• Assist pre‑design work for new construction, renovations and improvements, producing calculations, layouts, drawings and specifications.
• Conduct construction inspections, quality‑control reviews and submittal assessments beyond the scope of construction managers.
• Prepare cost estimates, time schedules, technical reports, contract documents and final construction drawings for contractor bidding.
• Manage the BUILDER database, ensuring accurate, current facility inventory and synchronization with the Air Force Accountable Property System of Record (APSR) and NexGen IT.
• Comply with health, safety and environmental regulations and act as Alternate BUILDER Point of Contact.

Required profile

• Experience in facility structure and finishes management, preferably in a military or government environment.
• Strong understanding of building envelope components and interior finish systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and develop technical specifications.
• Proficiency in preparing technical documentation and cost‑estimate reports.
