Systems Security Administrator

About the role

The Systems Security Administrator will protect sensitive data and ensure the integrity of Jacobs' IT environment in Doha. The role requires strong technical knowledge of Linux systems, security tools, and incident response, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive data.
• Prevent, detect, and respond to intrusion attempts.
• Administer and harden Linux servers.
• Manage SIEM platforms such as Splunk and ArcSight.
• Monitor security events and handle incident response.
• Participate in security testing and vulnerability assessments.
• Develop and maintain shell, Perl, and Python scripts.
• Operate and update security tools including Nessus, Core Impact, ACAS, and Yara.
• Manage email security appliances and host‑based signatures.

Required profile

• Education: No formal degree required.
• Certifications: DoDD 8570.01-M IAT II and/or RHCSA.
• Experience: Minimum eight years of progressive experience in systems security and administration.

Required skills

• Linux system administration and hardening.
• SIEM management (Splunk, ArcSight).
• Security incident monitoring and response.
• Shell, Perl, and Python scripting.
• Vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Core Impact, ACAS).
• Host‑based detection tools (Yara, Open IOC).
• Email security appliance configuration.
