Transformer Design Manager – Electrical Engineering

About the role

Al Dana Switchgear is expanding its transformer manufacturing division and seeks a seasoned Transformer Design Manager / Engineer to lead the design of oil‑filled distribution transformers up to 4 MVA. The role combines technical design, product development and cross‑functional coordination to deliver high‑quality, cost‑effective transformer solutions for utility and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design active parts of transformers, including cores and winding assemblies.
• Design transformer tanks, radiators, conservators and related accessories.
• Prepare detailed engineering calculations, drawings and bills of materials.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC 60076 and other international standards.
• Coordinate with production and quality teams throughout the manufacturing process.
• Support testing, commissioning and address customer technical requirements.
• Drive continuous design improvements and cost‑optimization initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in transformer design, specifically oil‑filled distribution transformers up to 4 MVA.
• Proven track record of delivering designs that meet IEC 60076 standards.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for low‑voltage switchgear and transformers.

Required skills
