Translations Officer

About the role

The Translations Officer provides accurate and timely verbal and written translation services for official correspondence, reports, forms, technical, aviation‑related and business documents between Arabic and English. The role supports MATAR management, departments and external stakeholders, ensuring that all translated material meets organisational standards for clarity, confidentiality and consistency.

Key responsibilities

• Translate official correspondence, reports, policies, legal, technical, aviation and business documents from Arabic to English and vice‑versa, maintaining accuracy and appropriate tone.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to clarify source text, terminology and context before finalising translations.
• Research specialised terminology in legal, technical, aviation and governmental domains to ensure precise translation.
• Maintain and apply approved bilingual glossaries, style guides and translation standards.
• Proofread, edit, format and validate translated materials, including those prepared by others, to ensure linguistic accuracy and compliance with corporate templates.
• Provide verbal interpretation during meetings, workshops, conferences and official events when required.
• Coordinate with Document Control to ensure proper versioning, classification and storage of translated documents.
• Monitor translation requests, manage priorities, track workloads and report on turnaround times and KPI performance.

Required profile

• Fluent in both Arabic and English with strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience translating technical, legal, aviation or business documents.
• Ability to research and apply specialised terminology consistently.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
