Upper Elementary Teacher (Grade 3-5)

About the role

The school is seeking an enthusiastic Upper Elementary Teacher for grades 3‑5 to start in mid‑September 2026. The successful candidate will deliver the curriculum, foster a love of learning, and uphold the GEMS Core Values.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the required curriculum with up‑to‑date subject knowledge.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
• Maintain records of curriculum plans, attendance, assessments and resources.
• Assess, record and report on student progress, using data to tailor instruction.
• Utilise media and technology effectively in the classroom.
• Support students with individual needs, including ESL, gifted, and low‑ability learners.
• Communicate regularly with parents, keeping them informed of progress.
• Participate in co‑curricular, extra‑curricular programmes and school events.
• Promote cultural awareness, self‑discipline and a safe learning environment.
• Engage in professional development, appraisal and performance management.

Required profile

• B.Ed or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Early Years Education) with PGCE/PGDE or equivalent L5 teaching qualification.
• Commitment to the GEMS ethos of respect, innovation, leadership, purpose and tenacity.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using ICT and educational technology to enhance teaching.
