About the role
The Waiter will support the restaurant team at Mandarin Oriental Doha by delivering prompt, courteous service and ensuring each guest enjoys a memorable dining experience. Working under the guidance of managers and supervisors, you will help maintain high standards of food presentation, cleanliness, and overall guest satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Understand and communicate the outlet’s concept and food‑and‑beverage offerings to guests.
- Complete mise en place and cleaning tasks before and during service to ensure efficient operations.
- Operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system to process orders, payments, and gift cards.
- Deliver attentive service, anticipate guest needs, and upsell menu items to enhance revenue.
- Handle billing, cash, and non‑cash transactions in line with hotel cashiering policies.
- Ensure dishes are presented according to hotel standards and maintain equipment in good condition.
- Comply with all corporate policies, including data protection, internet use, and the MOHG Code of Conduct.
- Support learning and development activities and undertake additional duties as requested by management.
Required profile
- Willingness to adhere to corporate and hotel policies, including safety, harassment‑free, and social‑media guidelines.
- Ability to work collaboratively under supervision and take responsibility for guest satisfaction.
- Commitment to safeguarding guest and colleague information.
- Readiness to support continuous learning and perform extra tasks related to hotel operations.
