Art Teacher – Permanent Position

About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Art Teacher to join its academic team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will inspire students across all abilities, fostering creativity and a love for visual arts within a safe, respectful learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver well‑structured art lessons that align with the curriculum and promote high standards of literacy and articulation.
• Set challenging yet achievable goals for pupils of diverse backgrounds, abilities and dispositions.
• Assess pupil progress, provide constructive feedback and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs, including those with special educational needs or English as an additional language.
• Develop and maintain engaging schemes of work, resources and homework to consolidate learning.
• Reflect on teaching effectiveness and contribute to curriculum development within the art department.

Required profile

• Demonstrated commitment to high expectations, mutual respect and student motivation.
• Strong understanding of how pupils learn and the ability to differentiate instruction.
• Awareness of physical, social and intellectual development stages and ability to adapt teaching accordingly.
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for fostering artistic inquiry.
