Buyer – Spot Material Procurement

About the role
The Buyer is responsible for creating and finalising high‑quality spot material purchase orders, tracking them through to goods receipt and ensuring material availability for end‑users in line with financial authority controls.
Key responsibilities
- Execute spot purchases to meet departmental KPIs and corporate objectives, maintaining a database of purchase orders and expediting vendors as needed.
- Review purchase requisitions for completeness, liaise with end users to resolve issues, and compile status reports for managers.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing processes, RFQ guidelines and TOFA requirements, analysing and recommending process improvements.
- Analyse historical spend and demand data to develop spot‑buying strategies and maintain supplier performance tracking.
- Support audits and peer reviews by providing required documentation and ensuring control gaps are addressed.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management or a related commercial discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience in the oil and gas industry.
