Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead all accounting and financial operations for the UEPC Kazakhstan Project, ensuring strict compliance with UCC Holding policies, IFRS, and local regulations. This senior position oversees financial reporting, budgeting, audit coordination, and the project accounting team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting functions including General Ledger, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and project management reports.
• Monitor cash flow, support treasury activities, and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
• Coordinate budgeting and cost‑control activities with Cost Control and Commercial teams, analysing variances and recommending efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, UCC Holding policies, Kazakhstani tax and statutory requirements; lead internal and external audits.
• Oversee supplier payments, employee reimbursements, subcontractor invoicing and receivables collection.
• Lead, develop and allocate tasks for the project accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement.
• Implement and maintain SAP ERP / SAP SuccessFactors financial processes, strengthen internal controls and support finance digitalisation initiatives.
• Liaise with project management, procurement, HR, banks, auditors and tax authorities to provide financial analysis for strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in project accounting and financial management, preferably in large‑scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Kazakhstani tax law and statutory reporting.
• Proven ability to lead and develop accounting teams.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
