Commercial Operations Specialist - Airport Concessionaires

About the role

This role supports the operational coordination, development and execution of commercial activities related to concessionaires at the airport. It acts as a key link between internal and external stakeholders and tenants, providing administrative and operational support throughout the project lifecycle, and ensures operational excellence for each tenant by monitoring service delivery and resolving issues promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the development and setup of new or modified commercial units (shops, kiosks, service counters) to meet handover readiness and minimise delays.
• Liaise with Facilities Management, Terminal Operations and other teams to secure access and infrastructure completion by target dates.
• Monitor on-site activities, escalate risks early and track issues through logs and resolution turnaround times.
• Maintain records of project timelines, status and communications, and update status reports and draft observations for management review.
• Act as the main contact for concessionaires on layout changes, signage and logistics, and support new service deployments such as ride-hailing integration.
• Oversee logistics and setup for car rental zones and customer interface points, and act as focal point for space handover of commercial units on the HIA campus.
• Conduct site visits to verify compliance, governance and physical readiness before activation, and support continuous improvement of concessionaire readiness.
• Align key accounts and projects with objectives, contractual obligations and compliance, and perform other duties directed by the Head of Department.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with at least 5 years of job-related experience, including 3-4 years in commercial operations management and coordination.
• Preferably 2 years in commercial or non-aeronautical management within an international airport, and 2 years in retail, commercial malls or large business groups.
• Experience in commercial operations, logistics coordination or stakeholder management; familiarity with space handovers, fit-out coordination and minor works follow-up is preferred.
• Ability to read, write and converse in Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Good command of verbal and written English.
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to interpret technical drawings and plans.
• Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
