Data Governance (Privacy & Security) Specialist

About the role

The Data Governance (Privacy & Security) Specialist will lead the organisation’s data privacy, protection and information‑security initiatives. You will ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and contractual obligations while embedding robust governance frameworks across all business units.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain ongoing compliance with data‑privacy, protection and security regulations and conduct privacy impact assessments.
• Identify privacy and security risks, recommend corrective actions and monitor regulatory changes.
• Implement and enforce information‑security controls, including DLP, IAM and secure handling of PHI and PII.
• Develop and maintain data‑governance policies, standards, data‑entry rules and classification schemes.
• Support enterprise‑wide data discovery, mapping and classification projects and manage database‑management plans for large‑scale analytics.
• Perform privacy and compliance audits, risk assessments and assist with incident‑response planning.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, technical and business teams to provide advisory support and training on privacy and data‑governance matters.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of data‑privacy laws, regulatory standards and information‑security best practices.
• Experience conducting privacy impact assessments and managing compliance programmes.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with legal, IT and business stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
