Engineer I – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The Engineer I will respond to guest repair requests and perform preventive maintenance across the property, ensuring all equipment and facilities operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts, and use lockout/tagout procedures before work.
• Document daily activities and hand over information to subsequent shifts.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and stairs.
• Driver’s license.

Required skills

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration knowledge.
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Plumbing repair (e.g., unclogging drains, toilet plunging).
• Pneumatic/electronic systems and controls.
• Carpentry and finish work.
• Kitchen equipment maintenance.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills for inputting schedules and temperature changes.
