English Teacher (Grades 6‑12) – Permanent

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join our secondary department on a permanent basis. The role covers teaching English across middle and high school levels, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver well‑structured lessons for Grades 6‑12, fostering a love of learning and intellectual curiosity.
• Set high expectations, create a safe and respectful classroom environment, and motivate pupils of diverse backgrounds.
• Assess and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and supporting individual learning needs.
• Develop and adapt curriculum resources, schemes of work, and homework to reinforce learning.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs, high ability, or English as an additional language.
• Reflect on teaching effectiveness and contribute to departmental improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience teaching English to middle‑school (Grades 6‑8) and high‑school (Grades 9‑12) students.
• Strong knowledge of the English curriculum, IBDP requirements, and literacy standards.
• Ability to set challenging goals, inspire pupils, and maintain high standards of articulacy and standard English.
• Understanding of child development and strategies to support varied learning styles.
