About the role

GEMS Wellington School – Qatar is seeking a dynamic and dedicated English Teacher to join its secondary department starting September 2026. The role involves delivering GCSE/IGCSE and AS/A Level English Literature to a diverse student body while fostering an inclusive, high‑performing learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging English Literature lessons for secondary students.
• Utilise evidence‑based pedagogy and innovative teaching methods to raise standards.
• Contribute to the department’s curriculum development and extracurricular activities.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s high‑performance learning philosophy.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at secondary level.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant teaching degree.
• Passion for the English language and a commitment to student achievement.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain high expectations.
• Strong teamwork skills and a sense of humour.
