Event Planning Specialist

About the role

The Event Planning Specialist supports the smooth execution of banquets and special events at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel. You will act as the primary point of contact for guests and internal teams, ensuring every detail aligns with the guest’s expectations and hotel standards.

Key responsibilities

• Meet with group coordinators/hosts before functions to introduce services and confirm arrangements.
• Read and analyse banquet event orders to capture guest information, set‑up requirements, timelines, buffet and action‑station specifications.
• Coordinate with kitchen, service, and facilities teams to implement the agreed set‑up and address any special requests.
• Follow up on special banquet arrangements to guarantee compliance with guest needs and hotel policies.
• Maintain safety, security, and cleanliness standards, reporting hazards or incidents promptly.
• Uphold professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under time‑pressured environments.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a service‑oriented mindset.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 25 lb and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting banquet event orders.
• Effective verbal communication in English.
• Basic knowledge of hospitality safety and security protocols.
