Facility Operation and Maintenance Lead

About the role

The Facility Operation and Maintenance Lead ensures a safe, efficient working environment for the Technical Institute and Qatar Armed Forces staff, overseeing day‑to‑day care, management, security and preservation of all hard and soft services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage preventative and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring tasks are completed safely and on time.
• Direct maintenance personnel, coordinate with QAFTI officers and QAF Maintenance Team, and enforce compliance with manuals, policies and legislation.
• Oversee statutory and regulatory requirements, utility services continuity, and security matters including perimeter and building security.
• Plan and implement local procurement of assets, training items and tooling, and maintain waste disposal systems.
• Lead three Support Technicians, providing support to Engineering Lead, teaching staff and FM tasks.
• Produce reports on issues, costs and trends, and drive improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Foundation Degree/HND in Management, Operations Management or similar with engineering background.
• Safety, Health and Environment qualification equivalent to NEBOSH Dip or NCRQ Dip.
• Knowledge of financial management principles, budgeting and cost control.
• Highly organized with strong planning and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in a military environment and working in the Middle East.
