Facility Operation and Maintenance Lead

About the role

The Facility Operation and Maintenance Lead ensures a safe, efficient working environment for the Technical Institute and Qatar Armed Forces staff. Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, the role coordinates daily facility services, security, and maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day care, management, security and preservation of all hard and soft services.
• Direct preventive and reactive maintenance teams, ensuring tasks are completed safely and on time.
• Manage three Support Technicians and coordinate with engineering, SHE and security functions.
• Develop and maintain the Facility Management and Operation Plan, including waste disposal, utility supply and compliance with statutory regulations.
• Act as the point of contact for all BAE Systems security matters, liaising with QAF Security Forces and external contractors.

Required profile

• Foundation Degree/HND in Management, Operations Management or related engineering discipline.
• Safety, Health and Environment qualification equivalent to NEBOSH Dip or NCRQ Dip.
• Experience working in a military environment and in the Middle East.
• Strong organisational, planning and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• NEBOSH or equivalent HSE qualification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of financial management principles, budgeting and cost analysis.
• Ability to gather, analyse data and produce detailed reports.
