Female Laundry Shop Assistant

About the role

The Laundry Shop Assistant will support the hotel’s laundry operations, handling cash transactions, customer service, and stock management in a fast‑paced 5‑star environment.

Key responsibilities

• Handle cash and card payments from customers.
• Arrange ordering and delivery of laundry items.
• Maintain a clean and tidy shop environment.
• Greet customers, respond to enquiries by phone or email, and manage complaints.
• Participate in stock control, report discrepancies, and help minimise loss.
• Assist with day‑to‑day shop operations and ensure issues are escalated to the supervisor.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a hotel laundry or similar role is preferred.
• Ability to sort linen, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry correctly.
• Knowledge of handling different fabrics and laundry chemicals safely.
• Physically fit, able to stand for long periods and lift laundry bags.
• Good attention to detail, organisational skills and teamwork with housekeeping.

Required skills

• Operating commercial washing and drying machines.
• Ironing, pressing, folding and finishing hotel linen.
• Identifying and reporting stains, damage or missing items.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
