FO/MV Splicer (Offshore)

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is looking for a full-time FO/MV splicer to work on offshore projects. The role involves fusing and mechanically splicing fiber optic cables and working in outdoor environments such as manholes and telecom cabinets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables
• Strip, clean and prepare fiber and copper cables for splicing
• Use OTDR, power meters and other tools to test and verify signal integrity
• Maintain splicing records, test results and as-built diagrams
• Follow industry safety standards when handling cables and equipment
• Work in outdoor environments, manholes and telecom cabinets to splice and connect cables
• Splice and test submarine composite cable, LSZH, armored cable and loose tube cable using fusion and ribbon splicing machines

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in telecommunications, electronics or a related field
• Proven experience in fiber optic and copper cable splicing
• Knowledge of network layouts, color codes and cable management systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and splice diagrams

Required skills

• Familiarity with OTDR, light source and power meter usage
• Fiber optics tools such as VFL and talk set
