Head of Business Finance - Cargo

About the role

The Head of Business Finance – Cargo will act as the finance business partner for the Cargo division of Qatar Airways, providing insightful reporting, analysis and profitability recommendations to senior management. You will bridge finance and operations, ensuring alignment with group financial policies while driving strategic financial planning and investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strategic financial plans, budgets and forecasts for the Cargo business.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly KPI reports, cost analyses, and investment scenario modelling.
• Advise the CFO and senior finance leaders on cash flow, budgeting, investment priorities and policy matters.
• Lead the creation of comprehensive business cases, including ROI, NPV and IRR calculations, to support project approvals.
• Integrate market intelligence into financial planning to enhance competitive advantage.
• Ensure compliance with Qatar Airways accounting policies and procedures.
• Communicate financial performance and recommendations to senior management through clear reports and presentations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in finance within the aviation or cargo industry, preferably at a senior level.
• Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management and investment analysis.
• Proven ability to work closely with senior executives and influence decision‑making.
• Excellent analytical mindset with a focus on delivering actionable insights.
