Internal Control Officer / Senior Officer (Policies & Controls)

About the role

The Internal Control Officer / Senior Officer will design, implement and maintain a robust control environment that prevents fraud, eliminates financial leakage and drives productivity across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain an internal control library and integrate controls into IT applications.
• Design policies and procedures for all departments, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with business needs.
• Map policies to the control library, obtain departmental concurrence, and manage the control register.
• Identify key risk areas, perform quantitative and qualitative assessments, and develop controls to mitigate those risks.
• Develop and maintain a real‑time dashboard monitoring critical controls, issuing alerts on failures or deviations.
• Produce monthly and quarterly reports on control effectiveness and audit outcomes.
• Lead internal, external and regulatory audit processes, ensuring clean audit reports.
• Collaborate with department heads to review and improve control environments.
• Evaluate manual processes for automation opportunities and oversee integration of automated controls.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry, or in IT/Analytics within the insurance domain.
• Risk management experience is preferred.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant or MBA from a Tier‑1 or Tier‑2 business school.
