Legal Counsel – EPC Contracts

About the role

The Legal Counsel will join the Legal team to manage the full lifecycle of large‑scale EPC contracts that underpin our construction projects. You will work closely with commercial, project management and procurement teams to draft, negotiate, execute and resolve issues on complex agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate EPC and related commercial contracts, including FIDIC‑based forms.
• Manage contract variations, extensions of time, delay/disruption claims and performance security instruments.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, JV partners and external counsel throughout the contract lifecycle.
• Support dispute resolution processes such as arbitration, adjudication or DAB/DAAB proceedings.
• Liaise with cross‑functional teams to ensure contractual compliance and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of post‑qualification legal experience, preferably split between law‑firm practice and in‑house counsel.
• Proven track record of leading high‑value, complex commercial negotiations.
• Experience with EPC contracts in infrastructure, energy, oil & gas or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of the FIDIC suite (Silver/Yellow/Red Book) or equivalent standard forms.
• Law degree (LLB/JD) and admission to practice in a recognized jurisdiction; LLM in construction or international commercial law is a plus.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
