Legal Officer – Insurance Litigation & Compliance

About the role

The Legal Officer will lead all legal and litigation matters for SHARQ Insurance, ensuring effective handling of claims, court cases, contractual issues and regulatory compliance. This role works closely with courts, government authorities, external counsel and internal stakeholders to protect the company’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Review police accident reports for motor claims, assess liability and contractual obligations under insurance policies and applicable law.
• Liaise with police stations, traffic departments, courts, public prosecutors and regulatory bodies on all legal matters affecting SHARQ.
• Coordinate with external law firms and Group Legal on motor and non‑motor claims, including third‑party liability, death, bodily injury and property damage.
• Monitor and manage ongoing litigation, disputes and claims to ensure timely progression and resolution.
• Prepare, maintain and review provisioning recommendations for legal claims and litigation matters.
• Maintain legal registers, notices, summons and engagement agreements with external counsel.
• Facilitate prompt settlement and disposal of legal cases to protect company interests.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk Management and Internal Audit on matters with legal, regulatory or risk implications.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing insurance‑related legal and litigation matters.
• Ability to coordinate with courts, police, regulatory authorities and external counsel.
• Experience handling motor and non‑motor claims, including third‑party liability and workmen’s compensation.
• Strong understanding of insurance contracts, regulatory compliance and provision reporting.
