Maternity Cover Primary Teacher

About the role

The school is seeking a qualified Primary Teacher to cover a maternity leave. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, inclusive lessons to a mixed‑age primary classroom and uphold the school’s high standards of learning, behaviour and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver well‑structured lessons that meet the needs of all learners, using inquiry‑based and creative teaching strategies.
• Maintain high expectations for learning, behaviour and personal responsibility while fostering a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
• Integrate appropriate technology to enhance learning and develop students’ digital skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design coherent grade‑level programmes and ensure curriculum alignment with international best practices.
• Use formative and summative assessment data to monitor progress, provide feedback and differentiate instruction.
• Support diverse learners, including EAL, SEN and high‑achieving students, in partnership with the Inclusion Department and pastoral teams.
• Implement behaviour management consistent with school policies and restorative practice principles.
• Engage with parents and the wider community, contributing to reports, portfolios and clear communication.

Required profile

• Qualified primary teacher with experience in delivering a broad curriculum.
• Strong commitment to inclusive practice and student wellbeing.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to professional learning communities.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, empathetic attitude.
