Procurement Engineer

About the role

The Procurement Engineer will lead the sourcing and purchasing of materials, equipment, and services for power, infrastructure and construction projects. Working closely with engineering, project and site teams, you will ensure that all procurements meet quality, cost and delivery requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement of electrical, mechanical, civil, construction and infrastructure items.
• Review technical specifications, drawings, BOQs and purchase requisitions.
• Identify, qualify and develop suppliers and manufacturers.
• Obtain, evaluate and compare quotations; negotiate prices, terms and delivery schedules.
• Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.
• Monitor critical and long‑lead items, coordinate delivery and inspection with site, quality, logistics and warehouse teams.
• Track supplier performance and resolve quality, delivery or commercial issues.
• Maintain procurement records in SAP/ERP and support cost‑saving initiatives.
• Conduct market research on pricing, availability and alternative materials.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years total experience, with at least 5 years in procurement for power, infrastructure or construction projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, procurement, supply chain or related field.
• Experience in GCC markets is a plus.
