Production Assistant Manager

About the role

Web Summit is looking for a Production Assistant Manager to help bring its global events to life. You will support the Live Events team by coordinating technical production, managing suppliers, and ensuring flawless execution for attendees.

Key responsibilities

• Manage part of the production process, liaising with suppliers, department heads, operators, freelance staff and key event personnel.
• Ensure all technical aspects of the event (rigging, AV, broadcast, lighting, staging) run smoothly.
• Assist in finding technical solutions for creative designs and develop production schedules with suppliers and internal teams.
• Support costing and spending forecasts, maintain detailed records of production expenditures and collaborate with procurement for best value.
• Maintain clear communication channels with internal departments, team leads, clients and external parties.
• Own timeline development and contribute to overall project management.

Required profile

• Experienced assistant production manager with strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Basic working knowledge of event and stage production technicalities such as rigging, AV, broadcast, lighting and staging.
• Understanding of site‑management aspects including power, mechanical services, set construction, crewing, transport logistics and warehousing.
• Proven experience working with technical suppliers, freelance personnel and operators.
• Ability to draft detailed technical specifications for tender and procurement processes.
• Familiarity with Qatar venues, local and regional suppliers, and relevant government entities.
