Project Director – Mega Projects

About the role

The Project Director will provide overall leadership for multi‑billion‑dollar, mega‑scale construction programmes, guiding multidisciplinary teams from concept through handover. The role demands strategic vision, rigorous execution, and strong stakeholder engagement to ensure safety, schedule, budget, and quality targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement project execution strategies for large‑scale developments across mixed‑use, high‑rise, hospitality, infrastructure and island projects.
• Lead cross‑functional teams including construction, engineering, project controls, commercial, procurement, HSE and QA/QC.
• Oversee budgets, cost control, cash‑flow management and financial performance, taking corrective actions to meet commercial goals.
• Manage procurement, subcontract awards, major commercial agreements and support claims, contract administration and dispute resolution.
• Build and sustain relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, government authorities and other stakeholders; represent the organization at executive meetings.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks related to schedule, cost, quality, safety and contractual obligations; ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
• Monitor project planning, scheduling and KPIs, driving continuous improvement and efficient use of manpower, equipment and resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in the construction industry.
• At least 10 years in senior project leadership roles.
• Proven track record delivering mega‑scale, multi‑billion‑dollar projects from inception to handover.
• Deep understanding of project execution, commercial management, contracts, planning and procurement.
