About the role
The Project Field Operations (FOPS) Manager is responsible for preparing facilities for start‑up and operation, ensuring safe, operable and cost‑effective delivery. The role will evolve to lead a multidisciplinary team covering commissioning, maintenance engineering and inspection.
Key responsibilities
- Implement HSE standards and ensure team competencies meet safety requirements.
- Define, execute and monitor the Field Operation Execution Plan.
- Report progress, risks and concerns to the Major Projects Manager.
- Identify design optimisation opportunities early in the concept phase.
- Coordinate weekly/monthly meetings with contractors and manage ad‑hoc sessions as needed.
- Interface with Engineering & Construction for brownfield tie‑ins and existing facility integration.
- Issue revisions of Operating Philosophy, OPEX estimates, Production Availability studies and Start‑up sequences during engineering phases.
- Review operability, asset integrity and flow‑assurance aspects; participate in 3D reviews, HAZOP/HAZID and safety case development.
- Validate architecture choices, RAM studies and SIMOPS scenarios, ensuring effective isolations.
- Define exploitation needs, staffing, logistics and training requirements for the facility.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading teams of 2‑40 specialists in commissioning, maintenance and inspection.
- Financial accountability for multi‑million‑dollar budgets.
- Strong understanding of OPEX, plant availability and production impact.
- Ability to work with shareholders, partners and senior project leadership.
