Restaurant Manager - Spice Market

About the role

Marriott International is looking for a Restaurant Manager for its Spice Market outlet in Doha, Qatar. The role plays a key part in maximising financial performance and attracting hotel and non-hotel guests by understanding the local market and working with culinary leadership. It is a full-time management position based in West Bay.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the restaurant business: survey demand, analyse competitors, negotiate purchases and inventory, and apply revenue management strategies
• Oversee the marketing plan with the hotel's general manager or director of operations, run social media and public relations, and act as main contact for restaurant events
• Manage day-to-day operations: supervise staff, run daily taste panels, maintain service and sanitation standards, monitor liquor and food safety compliance, and oversee purchasing and payments
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences, handle complaints, and use guest feedback to improve service
• Lead human resources: hire, train, coach and mentor staff, manage staffing levels and monitor attendance and performance
• Keep up with industry trends and share information with colleagues and subordinates

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, or a 2-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related field
• 4 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary or a related profession, or 2 years of experience with a 2-year degree
