Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

The Senior DevOps Engineer will design, manage, and optimise enterprise‑grade IT infrastructure and cloud environments for Mowasalat, ensuring high availability, performance and security across all systems.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and standardise Windows Server and Linux environments, including kernel tuning and security hardening.
• Manage virtualised infrastructures with VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper‑V.
• Design and implement Azure IaaS/PaaS solutions, cloud networking and identity management.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Azure Bicep, and enforce Azure governance and cost‑optimisation.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions; automate operations with PowerShell and Ansible.
• Oversee MS SQL, Kafka and MongoDB platforms, handling tuning, replication, sharding and HA configurations.
• Containerise applications with Docker and orchestrate large‑scale Kubernetes clusters, ensuring resiliency and autoscaling.
• Implement security controls aligned with ISO 27001 and NIST, lead vulnerability management and manage backup/disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Maintain architecture diagrams, SOPs and ITIL‑aligned documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead cross‑functional infrastructure projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering and cloud operations.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and virtualisation technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure, Terraform, Azure Bicep and IaC best practices.
• Solid background in CI/CD, automation, containerisation and orchestration.
• Understanding of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST) and ITIL processes.
• Ability to lead teams, mentor staff and drive modernization initiatives.
