Senior Marine Geophysicist

About the role

Milaha is seeking a Senior Marine Geophysicist to lead the processing, interpretation and reporting of side‑scan sonar and sub‑bottom profiler data for seabed hazard assessment projects. The role supports offshore operations, client deliverables and ensures technical compliance throughout the survey lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Process Side Scan Sonar (SSS) and Sub‑Bottom Profiler (SBP) datasets.
• Interpret seabed features, hazards, debris and shallow geology.
• Prepare route assessments, anomaly lists and chart products.
• Review third‑party survey reports and flag technical non‑conformities.
• Assist offshore acquisition teams with troubleshooting and survey planning.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, company procedures and HSE requirements.
• Support tender preparation, methodology development and client meetings.

Required profile

• Degree in Geophysics, Geology, Marine Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of marine geophysics experience, including seabed debris and pipeline route surveys.
• Proven expertise in SSS/SBP interpretation.
• Experience working on offshore projects in the Middle East.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SonarWiz, Kingdom, IHS and GIS software.
• Strong AutoCAD skills.
• Hands‑on experience with side‑scan sonar and sub‑bottom profiler equipment.
