Senior Process Safety & Risk Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Process Safety & Risk Engineer to lead the implementation of process safety, loss‑prevention and risk engineering programs across onshore and offshore assets in Qatar. The role involves providing expert advisory services, conducting major safety studies and ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement asset‑based process safety, loss‑prevention and risk management programs.
• Review engineering documentation and project deliverables for safety compliance.
• Support the execution of Manage Operations Risk (MOR) and Ensure Process Safety processes.
• Facilitate HAZID, HAZOP, SIL and other hazard studies, producing high‑quality reports.
• Lead quantitative risk assessments (QRA) and other technical risk evaluations.
• Coordinate external consultants to deliver technical safety documents.
• Develop, implement and maintain Safety Cases for assigned assets.
• Lead barrier management activities, ensuring identification, verification and monitoring of critical safety barriers.
• Conduct technical reviews of Management of Change (MOC) requests.
• Monitor process safety performance indicators, analyse trends and recommend improvements.
• Represent Process Safety & Risk Engineering in project reviews, model reviews and safety assessments.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Integrity & Reliability, Major Projects and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Safety or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of oil & gas experience focused on process safety, risk management or loss prevention.
• Strong background in hazard identification and risk assessment methodologies.
• Practical knowledge of safe systems of work and emergency preparedness.
• Experience with EPC, commissioning and start‑up phases is an advantage.
