Senior Process Safety & Risk Engineer

About the role

The Senior Process Safety & Risk Engineer will lead the deployment of process safety, loss‑prevention and risk engineering programmes across assigned LNG assets. You will provide expert guidance, conduct safety studies and ensure compliance with industry standards to protect people, assets and the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement company‑wide process safety and risk management objectives on assigned assets.
• Review engineering documents, project deliverables and interface documents for compliance with relevant standards.
• Facilitate hazard identification (HAZID) and risk assessment studies, preparing comprehensive reports.
• Lead major safety studies such as Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) reviews, and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) baseline/re‑validation.
• Coordinate Safety Case and Barrier Management activities, ensuring effective safety barriers are identified, implemented and maintained.
• Perform technical reviews of Management of Change (MOC) requests and support corrective actions based on safety performance indicators.
• Collaborate with QatarEnergy LNG assets, external consultants and cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality safety documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Safety preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the oil & gas sector focusing on process safety, loss prevention and risk management.
• Proven experience leading HAZOP, HAZID and other hazard identification techniques.
• Strong understanding of both qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methodologies.
