Strategic Affairs & Governance – General Counsel

About the role

The Strategic Affairs & Governance function is seeking a senior legal professional to act as General Counsel. The role provides strategic legal and commercial guidance across investments, corporate structures, governance and contract negotiations, ensuring robust risk management and alignment with Qatar and international legal frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver strategic legal and commercial support for investments, governance, contracts, negotiations and corporate structuring.
• Coordinate and manage external legal advisers both locally and internationally.
• Support transaction processes, conduct due diligence and oversee contract risk management.
• Advise on deal processes, litigation strategy and corporate governance matters.
• Review, negotiate and finalize commercial agreements and contracts.
• Provide guidance on governance, legal structures and corporate restructuring initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial law, corporate advisory or transaction management.
• Qualified lawyer preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong network within the legal community and deep understanding of Qatar and international legal frameworks.
• Proven experience in M&A, contracts, governance, negotiations or corporate structuring.
