CAMO Engineer – Engines & Powerplant

About the role

The CAMO Engineer for Engines & Powerplant ensures that Qatar Airways' aircraft engines and APUs remain fully compliant with all airworthiness regulations, including CAMO and ETOPS where applicable. The role balances reliability, safety, and cost‑effectiveness to support the airline's operational and financial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate airworthiness and service documentation (AD, CN, SB, etc.) and issue necessary engineering orders.
• Review technical and commercial proposals, retrofit modification orders, and engineering change requests.
• Maintain optimal component and system reliability while controlling costs.
• Develop removal plans for life‑limited parts to minimise unscheduled engine removals.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure effective work scopes and timely shop visits.
• Approve engine and APU invoices in line with contractual terms.
• Monitor engine/APU health and implement proactive technical actions.
• Conduct technical analysis of contracts to achieve commercial and financial savings.
• Initiate campaign inspections, modifications, and component shop visits.
• Investigate technical reports (TORs, MORs, ASRs) and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide input for maintenance program amendments and MEL updates.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of CAMO, ETOPS, and airworthiness regulations.
• Experience with engine and APU reliability management.
• Ability to analyse technical data and contractual terms.
• Proactive approach to cost optimisation and reliability enhancement.
