Head of Primary

About the role

Nord Anglia Education is seeking an inspirational Head of Primary to lead Etqan Global Academy, a newly established IB World School in Doha. The role focuses on delivering the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and fostering a thriving, inquiry‑based learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership aligned with the IB PYP philosophy and the school’s strategic plan.
• Ensure high‑quality implementation and continuous development of the IB Primary Years Programme.
• Lead, coach, appraise and develop a talented primary teaching team.
• Drive school improvement through data analysis, monitoring and collaborative planning.
• Build a safe, nurturing community where every student feels valued and challenged.
• Partner with the PYP Coordinator to strengthen programme delivery and prepare for IB accreditation.
• Foster strong relationships with parents and the wider community.
• Oversee assessment, reporting and curriculum planning across the primary school.
• Promote student agency, inquiry‑based learning and the IB learner profile.

Required profile

• A recognised primary teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent) and a relevant degree.
• Significant senior leadership experience within an IB PYP school.
• Deep knowledge of the IB Primary Years Programme and transdisciplinary pedagogy.
• Proven track record of raising student outcomes and leading school improvement.
• Experience developing and coaching high‑quality teaching teams.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
• International school experience, preferably in the Middle East (desirable).
