Insurance Officer – Reconciliation

About the role

DOC Medical Center is looking for an experienced Insurance Officer – Reconciliation to manage the end‑to‑end reconciliation of insurance claims, payments and rejections. The role ensures financial accuracy, resolves discrepancies, and supports revenue integrity across the hospital’s insurance transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile insurance claims, payments and rejections using remittance advice and EOBs.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between billed amounts and insurer payments.
• Coordinate with insurance companies to clarify and resolve unpaid or under‑paid claims.
• Review denied and short‑paid claims, follow up and make necessary adjustments.
• Maintain accurate reconciliation records and produce updated financial reports.
• Collaborate closely with billing and finance teams to ensure revenue integrity.
• Support monthly closing activities and insurance receivables reconciliation.
• Analyze payment variance trends and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with insurance contracts, payer policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare periodic reports on reconciliation status, outstanding balances and recovery performance.

Required profile

• Educational qualification: MBBS/BDS/B.Sc. Nursing/B. Pharm/any allied healthcare qualification (preferred) OR a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Management or related field.
• Minimum 4‑5 years of experience in medical insurance, billing or revenue cycle with a focus on reconciliation.
• CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of insurance claims, EOBs, denials and payment reconciliation processes.
• Good understanding of Qatar’s healthcare insurance system and MoPH regulations.
• Excellent analytical ability with high attention to detail and strong communication skills.
