Room Preventive Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Room Preventive Maintenance Technician ensures guest rooms and related facilities remain in optimal condition by responding to repair requests, performing routine preventive maintenance, and addressing a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic issues.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate solutions promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room assets, including cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts, and document daily activities for shift hand‑over.
• Execute basic repairs: plumbing (unclog drains, toilet plunging), electrical (lamp replacement, switch/outlet repair), HVAC filter changes, light bulb replacement, and TV programming.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and ensure thorough clean‑up.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping tasks, including sprinkler maintenance.
• Enter air‑handler schedules and adjust temperature settings using computer systems.

Required profile

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 lb independently and heavier items with assistance.
• Clear communication skills for interacting with guests and team members.
• Commitment to safety policies, reporting hazards, and maintaining confidentiality.
• Professional appearance and willingness to support team goals.
