Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer to join its Doha team. You will lead site investigations, perform advanced geospatial and geohazard analyses, and design geotechnical components for bridges, tunnels, retaining walls and other public infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct advanced geospatial analysis using ArcGIS Pro, Global Mapper and QGIS.
• Develop terrain models, multi‑temporal DEM/DTM, Kriging and spline interpolations, and perform 3D volumetric calculations.
• Execute remote‑sensing tasks such as InSAR displacement mapping, LiDAR point‑cloud processing and satellite‑imagery interpretation (SRTM, Copernicus).
• Integrate GIS data with borehole logs, geophysical surveys and site‑investigation results for engineering assessments.
• Perform rock‑fall and geohazard assessments with RocFall, Dips and related tools.
• Carry out kinematic analysis of joint sets and evaluate failure mechanisms (toppling, planar, wedge).
• Model 3D rock‑fall trajectories to estimate bounce height, kinetic energy and rollout distances.
• Support probabilistic risk assessment and hazard mapping using AHP and fuzzy‑logic techniques.
• Run advanced numerical modeling and finite‑element analysis with PLAXIS 2D/3D, GeoStudio, Rocscience suite, Settle3 and LPILE.
• Perform complex 3D FEA, soil‑structure interaction studies and mesh‑sensitivity analyses for deep foundations and combined piled‑raft systems.
• Plan and prepare detailed scopes of geotechnical and geophysical investigations for large on‑shore and marine projects.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in geotechnical design and analysis for large‑scale infrastructure.
• Proven ability to work within multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on risk mitigation and technical deliverables.
