Street Lighting Engineer – Roads Operations & Maintenance

About the role

Egis is seeking a detail‑oriented Street Lighting Engineer to join its Roads Operations & Maintenance team in Doha. The role focuses on designing, installing, maintaining and optimizing street lighting across the city’s road network, ensuring safety, energy efficiency and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of existing street lighting infrastructure to identify defects, inefficiencies and safety hazards.
• Analyze lighting performance data and propose improvements to enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Coordinate with contractors and maintenance teams to execute installations, repairs and replacements on schedule.
• Prepare technical specifications, drawings and documentation for projects using CAD and other design software.
• Troubleshoot electrical and technical issues and develop effective solutions.
• Monitor maintenance schedules to ensure optimal system performance and minimal downtime.
• Evaluate new lighting technologies, including LED systems, and recommend upgrades for sustainability and cost‑effectiveness.
• Collaborate with traffic safety and urban planning teams to align lighting designs with road safety objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in street lighting design, installation or maintenance.
• Strong understanding of safety standards and energy‑efficiency requirements for public lighting.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent analytical skills for performance data interpretation.
