Senior HSE Engineer

About the role

QatarEnergy is looking for a Senior HSE Engineer to lead the provision of expertise on all HSE matters of the department and ensure compliance with relevant QatarEnergy Standards, international standards and regulatory and project requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum of 15 years' experience in HSE functions, including at least the last 5 years in a similar senior HSE position on projects for reputable oil and gas operators in an offshore environment.
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an internationally recognized university; a Master's degree is preferable.
• Membership of a recognized professional engineering or HSE association or institution is required.

Required skills

• Familiarity with HSE and environmental regulatory regimes, international safety engineering codes and standards, especially those related to offshore work.
• Experience developing project HSE plans, philosophies and specifications, and in HSE studies, environmental assessments and project HSE risk registers.
• Accident and incident investigation, review and learning from HSE incidents.
• Lead auditor in key and critical HSE audits and reviews, maintaining consolidated records, lessons learned and root cause analysis.
• Leadership of HSE and contractor HSE teams, and experience managing large contractor teams and acting as HSE lead in a project management team.
