Testing and Commissioning Coordinator

About the role

The Testing and Commissioning Coordinator will lead the execution of testing and commissioning activities for substation equipment, ensuring compliance with Kahramaa regulations and international standards. This role acts as the primary liaison between EPC contractors, OEMs, inspectors, and internal teams to deliver safe and reliable power infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update, and manage the testing & commissioning (T&C) plan and schedule for GIS, transformers, protection relays, breakers, LCC panels, SCADA, telecom and related equipment.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEM specialists, Kahramaa inspectors, QA/QC, and construction teams to confirm readiness for each T&C stage.
• Ensure completion of pre‑commissioning documentation such as ITPs, method statements, checklists, and FAT/SAT reports.
• Oversee testing of primary equipment (GIS, power and instrument transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, busbars) and secondary systems (protection relays, SCADA, RTU/BCU, communication interfaces, interlocking, control & automation, SOE).
• Review test reports, verify system integration, and conduct functional checks during energisation and load tests.
• Maintain all T&C documentation, manage punch‑list items, and ensure safety compliance for high‑voltage operations.
• Serve as the main point of contact with Kahramaa Transmission Department for inspections, approvals, and energisation clearances.

Required profile

• Proven experience in testing and commissioning of electrical substation equipment.
• Familiarity with Kahramaa regulations, IEC and IEEE standards.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures, risk assessments, LOTO and energisation protocols.
