Accounts Payable Accountant

About the role

Mowasalat is looking for an Accounts Payable Accountant to process and record all accounts payable transactions accurately and on time. The role ensures proper documentation, compliance with internal controls and smooth vendor payment operations, supporting the company's financial integrity through accurate AP records and timely settlement of obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Process day-to-day AP transactions in SAP: verify, classify, post and record vendor invoices, with accurate three-way matching (PO, GRN, Invoice) and timely entry of MIRO/MRKO transactions.
• Review and reconcile the AP ledger, maintain records of prepaid expenses and their schedules, and assist in month-end closing.
• Monitor credit terms and payment schedules, liaise with vendors and internal departments on payment status, and process customer refunds with cheques or bank transfer advices.
• Coordinate with operational finance and other departments to obtain documentation and resolve invoice discrepancies; review vendor contracts and coordinate with line management on financial comments or payment terms.
• Assist in preparing accounting entries under IFRS 16 and other standards, provide documentation to internal and external auditors, and safeguard company financial data.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 3-4 years of experience as an accountant, preferably in Accounts Payable.
• SAP / ECM training or certification.
• English and Arabic language skills.

• Proficiency in MS Word and accounting software.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, adaptability, relationship management and teamwork.
