Aircraft Mechanic A&P - UC-35 Cessna Citation, Al Udeid

About the role

A position to maintain the UC-35 Cessna Citation aircraft at Al Udeid, Qatar. The mechanic troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions in the aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneumatic, engine, auxiliary power unit and ventilation and heating systems.

Key responsibilities

• Check repaired or modified systems for proper operation and perform quality maintenance in line with federal aviation regulations, OEM or military technical orders.
• Repair and replace structures such as wings and fuselage, rigging, surface controls and hydraulic units.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins and specifications to repair or replace damaged components.
• Inspect engines for oil leaks, examine turbine blades for cracks, run engines and diagnose malfunctions with test equipment.
• Remove and install engines, disassemble and inspect parts, and repair or replace defective engine parts.
• Perform line maintenance such as flushing crankcases, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts and checking brakes.
• Service engines and airframe components at the line station, and possibly specialize in structural, precision spare parts or engine repair.

Required profile

• Valid FAA A&P certificate; recent full-time aviation maintenance experience on the assigned aircraft within the past 12 months.
• At least 3 years as an aircraft mechanic (5 years preferred); 6 months of flight line, overhaul and inspection experience.
• Formal maintenance training on the assigned aircraft desired; qualification through the USG armed forces aircraft mechanic course or civilian equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent; US citizenship required for a US government Secret clearance.
• Ability to live and work in a potentially hostile environment, including extreme weather and rudimentary infrastructure, and to travel internationally to remote locations.

Required skills

• Knowledge of aircraft subsystems, maintenance parameters, system operation, limitations and technical orders.
• Ability to read, write and interpret technical documents and to communicate effectively.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US government DoD Secret security clearance and facility credentials.
