Carpenter / General Maintenance Technician

About the role

Intrepid Acquisition Holdings, LLC is hiring a Carpenter/General Maintenance Technician who performs carpentry work such as fabricating items according to designs, blueprints, drawings and sketches, and repairing or reconstructing damaged wood stairs, floors, frames, rafters, joists and trusses in line with building codes. The role covers new construction, remodeling, renovation and demolition, plus other general maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints, sketches and modification orders to plan work efficiently and economically.
• Construct, repair, restore and install floors, doors, windows, stairways, furniture, cabinets and shelves.
• Build forms, frames, ceilings and roofs using lumber, plywood, wafer board, sheetrock, steel studs, foam board and cement board.
• Fabricate items from designs, blueprints, drawings and sketches.
• Repair or reconstruct damaged wood stairs, floors, frames, rafters, joists and trusses to meet building codes.
• Repair doors, roofs, ceilings, stairs, floors, windows and roll-up doors.
• Clean equipment, the shop area and the work site.
• Observe OSHA, AFOSHA ES&H and fire regulations.
• Perform other duties assigned by Alternate Site Management or the supervisor.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of experience in carpentry and general maintenance.
• Journeyman or Master certified carpenter.
• Able to solve problems involving broken end items, parts or fixtures.
• Valid U.S. driver's license; U.S. passport preferred.
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid residency visa for Qatar.
• Must hold and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and meet USCENTCOM deployment policy requirements.
• Able to work in extreme heat and dust, endure long hours and travel 100% in the deployed location.

Required skills

• Experience with power tools, power saws, cranes and drills.
• Welding experience preferred.
